THE KILLING DANISH FINALE SERIES
She got her first big break in 2011 when she was cast in the TV series The Killing.Even in her early roles, it was clear that Katie had the potential to become a star. A protracted stand-off was painful to watch before a bullet, straight through Kevin’s eye, came just in time. When Katie Findlay entered the entertainment industry a little more than 10 years ago, it didn’t take long for her career to start gaining traction. So of course, it was Saga who rushed to save the day when Kevin came to kill Henrik’s daughter Astrid, the most precious thing in his life. And that person was Tomas’s son Kevin, the wheelchair bound addict friend of Henrik’s.
She also admitted it in the interview room – rather too conveniently we suspected.īecause Saga realised that the timings of the kidnapping and killing of the first victim Margrethe Thormod didn’t stack up and another person had to have been involved. As was suggested last week, it was she who had been killing people beloved of those who had let him down.
THE KILLING DANISH FINALE CRACKED
But being politically incorrect in Sweden is almost as bad as being a mass murderer, and he will no doubt be drummed out of the force for that as much as his betrayal.Īs for the killings, we thought the truth has been cracked last episode with the unmasking of Susanne, Niels’s assistant and the secret lover of murdered police informant Tomas. Of course, she had a bit of finishing up to do on the case, the solving of which was obviously important but felt secondary, somehow, to the resolution of Saga’s storyline.įirstly, detective Jonas got his just desserts, the politically incorrect buffoon (who regularly talked about “homos” and suchlike) was fingered (a little unsurprisingly) as the person who had been selling details of the investigation to the press.

Then she was able to free herself and turn her back on the polis. Using the best assets, her sleuthing skills, she proved that her mother did harm Jennifer and she was right to stop her. The six-episode final season will be available to all Netflix. Her epiphany came after she realised certain truths about herself – the enormous guilt she carried about Jennifer’s suicide, her lingering doubts about whether her mother had the psychological affliction Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy, and the fact that she chose police work as a way of dealing with these feelings. The Killing Is Coming Back for Season 4 on Netflix The series was resurrected last year by AMC before being cancelled yet again. So let’s say she needed the therapy she’s been getting this series and it was these sessions that were the key that unlocked her soul.
And that’s even before we come to all those horrific crimes she had to solve. Oh yes, and her mentor and beloved friend and boss Hans Pettersson was murdered in grotesque circumstances in series three. So much, in fact, that she committed suicide and tried to frame Saga for murder, as revenge for reporting her crimes against Jennifer. She shopped her first partner Martin for killing his son’s killer, her sister had killed herself and her mother hated her. Saga had been through the mill over that time, as she often reminded us. The Bridge’s Sofia Helin reveals the one scene she was uncomfortable with over the course of the four series.Travel guide to Malmo, Copenhagen and key locations for Scandi Noir. The Bridge series 4 episode 7 recap: The killer is unmasked paving the way for the final ever episode.I guess the most sympathetic was Holder, Linden's ex-addict partner comes closest, but he was also stupid enough to be a pawn in the attempted framing of the Mayor. As much as anything I was delighted that creator Hans Rosenfeldt hadn’t decided to kill her off, which was always a fear in a show which has boasted a *cough* high body count over the past four series. Mitch, his wife, who abandons her family out of grief Stan, the ex hit-man trying to go straight, who inflicts vigilante justice on an innocent man Mayor Adams, not above trying to frame his Mayoral opponent with a fake photo Linden, the morose, obsessed detective who abandons her son and fiance for the case Darren, the idealistic mayoral candidate, also pretty morose and whose ideals turn out to be not quite so lofty They were still compelling and after awhile I cared about almost all of them.
None of the characters were especially sympathetic, but I like that. In know this series has come in for a lot of criticism, especially for its non-conclusive end in last season's finale, its rather leisurely pace, its alleged failure to live up to the Danish original. With one final twist, two years of false trails, horrible police mistakes, relentless rain and grief, cynical politics, child neglect and late blooming plot threads, The Killing (US version) has finally ended.
